Our Outreach Ministry started after venturing to Birmingham, Alabama after the tornadoes of 2011. A group of members traveled to the city with water, dry goods, household items and clothing to help support those that had suffered loss during that time.  The church adopted a family, which is now able to maintain adequate housing and employment.

From our venturing to Birmingham, the members decided to take on the needs of the homeless citizens in downtown Atlanta, focusing on the Auburn/Edgewood Avenue areas. We also incorporated the residents of the Wheat Street Towers. Our territory enlarged but help came our way from the partnering of the Cochran Law firm who joined us weekly making lunch sacks for the men & women living on the streets.  We moved from that area to the Pine Street area where the number of the population was more than could be imagined. Each week the citizens were fed, prayed for, and counseled.

The City of Atlanta directed us to partner with other local agencies in order to maintain better control of what was being distributed as well as to better service the needs of the people. Latter Rain partnered with The Shrine of the Immaculate Conception. We feed approximately 150-200 people on a weekly basis. Before feeding the groups of people, prayers are always offered, and welcomed by many. Some of the homeless people say a special “Thank You” for the prayers and often ask for individual prayers.

Latter Rain has a heart for the people of God; no matter which walk of life they are from. We treat everyone equally with respect and dignity.

With God’s help and His Blessings, Latter Rain established the "Dorcas Food Pantry and Clothes Closet", which helps to serve residents of the KRC Ridge community and the surrounding areas. The pantry is so called after the late Missionary Pearl D. Bennett who faithfully contributed to the cause.  The pantry & clothes closet is opened on Tuesdays from 11:00am until 3:00pm and again on Saturdays from 12:00pm until 2:00pm.

Our passion is people driven. We strive to help not only the physical need, but the spiritual also. Our goal is to help eradicate hunger and poverty one person/one family at a time. We strive to provide enrichment classes and spiritual guidance and to fulfill the Mission Statement of the Church.
